Knitting Skills: Beading
June 6, 11 - noon

Knitting Skills: Beading | June 6, 11 - noon

The knitting skills series is meant to provide quick sessions to learn a new skill or two. Please be sure you satisfy all the prerequisites, as the class is too short to go over them.

For the beading session, you'll learn how to add beads to lace pieces, including on decreases. I will also cover my understanding of where to place the beads.

Sign up for our free Friday Stitch Nights to deepen your practice or consider taking our Wednesday Knitting Support classes, which are 40% off if you sign up for four different dates.

Materials: Please bring your own materials and even extras if you have them. Rachel will have some available to share during class if you're missing anything. I'm hoping to avoid anyone having to buy anything; please bring what you can and plan to share.
  • Lace- or fingering-weight yarn and knitting needles that produce a fabric you like
  • Seed beads, preferably size 6/0 or larger (strangely, the larger sizes have smaller numbers)
  • Very small crochet hooks (US10-13--same deal where the larger sizes are smaller)

Prerequisites: You must be able to cast on (any method) and knit without assistance. Sadly, Rachel will have to ask you to sit out class if you cannot do these on your own so that we can cover everything in an hour.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. Cancellations at least five days before a class are subject to a $5 processing fee. Cancellations between two and five days before the class start date are subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations made within two days of class are not eligible for any refund.
2. If a class is cancelled or rescheduled, we will contact you by phone or email to reschedule or offer you a class credit.
