Knitting Skills: Cables
July 11, 11 - noon
Knitting Skills: Cables | July 11, 11 - noon
The knitting skills series is meant to provide quick sessions to learn a new skill or two. Please be sure you satisfy all the prerequisites, as the class is too short to go over them.
For the cables session, you'll learn how to do cables intuitively, with a focus on avoiding cable needles. The point of the session is to build confidence in trying out something new rather than to cover every imaginable cable stitch.
Sign up for our free Friday Stitch Nights to deepen your practice or consider taking our Wednesday Knitting Support classes, which are 40% off if you sign up for four different dates.
- Fingering or DK yarn and wood (not metal!) knitting needles that produce a fabric you like
-
Avoid slippery yarn for this class. Cotton, cupro, aloe vera, and seaweed are your friends for cables; let the shiny viscose and tencel wait for another day.

- A cable needle, just in case you want one
Prerequisites: You must be able to cast on (any method), knit, and purl without assistance. Sadly, Rachel will have to ask you to sit out class if you cannot do these on your own so that we can cover everything in an hour.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. Cancellations at least five days before a class are subject to a $5 processing fee. Cancellations between two and five days before the class start date are subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations made within two days of class are not eligible for any refund.
